About

Hi, I'm Joy.

Curious person. Lover of good designs, deep questions, and the occasional rabbit hole I never planned to fall into.

I'm drawn to ML algorithms, learning experience design, and the quiet satisfaction of understanding how things work — systems, people, the mind and soul alike.

This site is my slow-down space — books, daily musings, half-baked projects, tiny experiments, things that make me laugh or wonder. Less a finished thing, more a garden that's always mid-season.

If you found your way here — welcome. I hope something resonates.

Projects

Things I'm making

Building, making, or figuring out. Some finished, most mid-process. It will look a little nonlinear — that's kind of the point.

First Things First Ritual

A personal web ritual tool built around Brian Tracy's Eat That Frog — write down today's hardest task and its first bite, move through a 5-4-3-2-1 launch ritual, complete a body check-in after your focus round, and export the whole session as Markdown back to Obsidian.

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • localStorage

Outcome: A single quiet loop from naming the frog to archiving the session — emphasising the first bite over finishing, with a body check-in built into the end of every round.

Meditation Companion

A personal meditation web app that meets you where you are: a few gentle guided questions surface your current state, an AI-generated meditation script is created just for you, and one tap produces a narrated audio session with optional ambient background.

  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • React
  • OpenAI API

Outcome: A single private flow — from emotional check-in to editable script to downloadable guided audio — that stays calm and minimal on both mobile and desktop.

Blogs

Thinking out loud

Books I'm sitting with, things I'm learning, life I'm reflecting on. Less polished, more honest. You're welcome to read over my shoulder.

Tiny Experiments

Things I am trying

Tiny experiments — a concept by Anne-Laure Le Cunff that has quietly become my philosophy. Small bets, low stakes, high curiosity. Just questions I decided to live out for a while and see what happens.
